Designed by Graeme Leitch
This gun marks a milestone in spud gun history. It is a
high powered air cannon taking on the appearance of a rifle. After much
deliberation and research I am proud to say that this is genuine Graeme Leitch
genius.
Unlike most other guns I've seen (check out my links page) this gun
enables you to look straight down the barrel. This tremendously enhances
accuracy. Targets can be hit over and over again with relative ease. It is
composed of a 2.5' chamber which gives ample air compelance; my breech
loader (I mean who's ever seen a WWII sniper muzzle load his M1 Garrand?);
and of course just for fun, a paintball barrel.

You should not under any
circumstances try to construct anything similar to this gun unless you are
highly experienced with PVC. If you miss one joint, then PVC
shrapnelization results which may sound pretty cool but is temporarily deafening.
and very dangerous.
Here you can see the electrical
box wiring (or pipe as it appears). It is relatively easy for even someone who knows nothing about
electrical engineering. The current from the batteries flow through a toggle
switch, then through momentary switch, then through a resistor and LED, and lastly,
through the solenoid. In other words, the switch seen on the left when
flipped acts as an arming switch activating the LED (so you know if
you're wasting battery leaving it on accidentally.) The momentary switch
then acts a a trigger for the air release.
This page shows the complete wiring
diagram of the sniper rifle. You electrically orientated people will
probably understand it better than most. Click HERE
It is relatively easy to wire the
electrical stuff using 3 9volt batteries as the power supply. I quickly found that it is very easy to leave the power on and drain the batteries. It is
more expensive yet much more reliable to use 4 6-volt rechargeable Nicads.
I'm working on that addition.
This is my latest addition to my
rifle. A folding bipod. This spudgun is somewhat cumbersome and can make
your arms get a little tired when you are training the rifle on a target for a
long time. It has the ability to snap on or off. I also have one for
a combustion cannon. Look at this page for more
details.
