The silencer was made by taking the barrel and porting it with rifling holes. The larger casement was filled partially with foam and sealed. As the potato is fired that is when the sound is released. The sound flies forward hitting the potato before it can emerge from the barrel, trapping it and leaving it no other place to go other than the silencer in which the foam absorbs the bouncing sound . Most people would expect the range to be
drastically effected, but it isn't. There is a minor loss of range (about
10%) which is not alot to ask if you drowning out this much noise. There
is simply a WHUP rather than a BOOOOOM when fired.
