This was my first cannon that I ever built.  It obviously intrigued me so much that I had to build different cannons.  This is the typical average spud gun that is kind of run-of-the-mill.  Everyone knows how to make one or has one that serious about spud gunnin'.  These basic cannons can and usually do very in chamber size and ignition modes.  I prefer to use the flint lantern igniter simply  because they're easy to fix.  you can jump to my Igniter info page for more details. 

This spud gun, being a combustion gun, is powered off average hairspray.  Just stuff a projectile down the barrel and spray a few shots in the back and BOOM.  The one main reason these are so popular is that people love that massive boom.  however this gun only has a range of about 100 yrds.  This is the foundational cannon for all of you beginners out there.  Jump to This page for plans on how to build your own.
